  • Menu bar extra shows running backups with live progress bars and scheduled jobs with next-fire countdown
  • App stays running as a menu bar agent when the main window is closed — no Dock icon required
  • Quit button in the menu bar popover; Cmd+Q while focused also works
Reliability & Sleep
  • Registers a system wake event (via IOKit) 2 minutes before each scheduled backup, so backups fire even if the Mac was asleep
  • Runs caffeinate -i -s alongside each backup to prevent idle and system sleep on AC power
  • On Mac wake, missed scheduled runs are automatically caught up and dispatched
UI Animations
  • Job cards fade and slide in with staggered timing on first render
  • ProgressBlock background shimmer sweep and animated byte/percentage counters
  • Running status badge spins continuously; sidebar status dot pulses with a ripple ring
